One thing I really liked about the outdoor work I did was the connection with folks.
The community part.

Seeing someone learn something, use it, and then go do their own thing with it — that stuff makes me shine.

The last few years have been about adjusting.
Scaling down.
Paying closer attention to who I actually connect with.

It turns out, it brought me closer to home.

There’s something solid about building where you’re comfortable and letting it grow from there. I had to come full circle to see that clearly. I’m a slow learner and a tough sell. I had to loose everything twice before I figured it out.

Something warm is always coming out of the oven at Isabel Cottage — on a little corner of Port Huron where homemade meets heart-made.

Every Saturday, Sam and Mikaela put together a fresh Bread Box — ready for pick-up, baked at their mini urban homestead. Each box includes:

🍞 1 loaf of sandwich bread
🍪 6 chocolate chip cookies
🍞 2 mini loaves of seasonal bread (flavors rotate weekly — think banana, zucchini, apple cinnamon, blueberry, or pumpkin)

All for just $25 — limited weekly batches, made by hand.

This is Karen this time. I have the stand open with four loaves of plain sourdough, two baguettes, and blueberry lemon loaf. There is also three farm fresh free range unwashed unrefrigerated dozen of eggs left from Emily Towner and the water family farm.
