Dr. Lance Yarbrough presented ongoing work on mapping mining-induced subsidence using InSAR near the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in New Mexico. The project brings together researchers from the University of Mississippi and the U.S. Department of Energy to explore how satellite-based remote sensing can help identify and monitor ground deformation in complex geologic settings.
Great to see Ole Miss Geological Engineering research being shared with the broader engineering geology community and contributing to conversations about remote sensing, geohazards, and the future of engineering geology.
