Mississippi ACDA is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Dr. Gary Packwood, a beloved member of the Mississippi choral community who dedicated many years to teaching and inspiring singers and teachers across our state. Our hearts are with his family, friends, former students, and everyone whose life he touched. He will be deeply missed.

Friends of Southern Region, we are sad to share of the passing of past Southern Region President (2017-2019) Dr. Gary Packwood. We are grateful for his service and leadership in our field, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

⭐️We are thrilled to announce our 2026 State Conference theme: RESOUND!! This year’s conference will run from Monday to Wednesday, that is a change, make sure to mark your calendars!! Here is a message from our President, Dale Beach, about this year’s theme:
