Happy Finale Friday! Let’s see what Maria has planned for herself after graduation! “After graduation, I want to move to New York City and one-day, fingers crossed, get to be a stage manager on Broadway. Another thing I want to do after I graduate is travel more since I really enjoy finding new places to go”.

Happy Throwback to Theatre Thursday! Let’s see what Maria misses most about working in a theatrical environment! “The thing I miss most about working in a theatrical environment is the adrenaline that comes with it and being able to see something go from a drawing to a real attainable thing. One of my favorite moments is the moment that the house lights go down at the beginning of the show and everything is silent for a few seconds before everything starts. A crazy story I have is three days before I was supposed to start tech for a show, our director came in and told us that she had a dream about the set and we had to scrap the whole thing and re-start”.

Happy Work Day Wednesday! Let’s see what shows Maria has worked on! “I was the stage manager and scenic designer for a show in high school called ‘True Places’ and it was a very fulfilling experience because it allowed creating a show from the ground up, since it is a piece that is not done a lot and was from a Boston playwright. We got that show to the State Finals and I got a Stage Management award for it. Also I designed Sweeny Todd. This upcoming school year, I am the Prop Master for ‘The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time’ and the Production Stage Manager for ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ “.

Happy Transition Tuesday! Let’s see how Maria got into stage management! “I started to do backstage crew when I was in fifth grade to get out of having to act in the school play and it just stuck with me from there. The thing I like most about theatre is creating elaborate shows and creating a world for the audience to enjoy”.

Happy Member Monday! Let’s meet another one of our talented members, Maria! “My name is Maria Papadopoulos and I am finishing my third year here at Penn State where I am studying Stage Management and Scenic Design. I am from a half-hour outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I like creating a lyric drawing, exploring nature with my friends, going to the beach and on my boat. I have been to over 20 concerts and saw Warped Tour at Atlantic City a few years ago”.

Happy Finale Friday! Let’s see what Sydney has planned for himself after graduation! “I really have no idea what I want to do after I graduate. There are so many paths that I can choose and once I finally decide to go with the one I’ll stick with it (or not). But, no matter what I will be doing something in the live entertainment world to help create an audience that can smile during any situation. And I will be doing this with the people I enjoy the most either the ones I have met from college or the ones I will meet when I graduate”.
