Don't forget to check out the amazing seminars we have this week.
Molecular Cellular and Integrative Biosciences
An interdisciplinary graduate program encompassing a variety of fields such as Cell and Developmental Biology and evolutionary Genetics
The MCIBS program is a campus-wide life sciences graduate program at Penn State. The goal of the program is to bring scientists from different disciplines together to create an exciting graduate program. In practice this means students and faculty are exposed to a wide variety of research problems and approaches. Students have the freedom to choose almost any life sciences lab on campus for their thesis work.
This Friday at 2:30pm, Dr. Huda Jerri will give a talk at the Nittany Lion Inn. She is the Director of Material Science R&D at Firmenich Inc. The seminar will cover microcapsule development and performance in various environments.
Don't forget to check out Matt Weirauch's seminar. 4pm in 501 Wartik

A food-based approach that targets interleukin-6, a key regulator of chronic intestinal inflammation and colon carcinogenesis Studies have shown a causal link between high-calorie diet (HCD) and colon cancer. However, molecular mechanisms are not fully elucidated. To understand etiology of HCD-induced colon carcinogenesis, we screened 10 pathways linked to elevated colonic cell proliferation and chronic inflammation in an…
