It’s been 1,049 days since I last made a post so what better time than now?

So much has changed and happened in the nearly 3 years since then… but I hope each and every one of you all are doing well!

With that out of the way… what an exciting time to be a Nittany Lion!?

Multiple publications and “experts” have Penn State Football is the post-spring #1 team in the country, our women’s volleyball team pulled off the reverse sweep to win the national title making Katie Schumacher-Cawley the first female head coach to accomplish the feat… all while battling breast cancer, our men’s hockey team capped off an improbable run with their first ever appearance in the Frozen Four, and a billion other historic and monumental things that I could spend all week here trying to list!

What’s going on Nittany Nation!? Had to make a post in case anyone hasn’t heard the news…. But several sources are indicating that USC and UCLA are joining the Big Ten in 2024 and that it is essentially a done deal. This is a potential huge get by the conference and caps off a huge day in penn state news also as we landed another blue chip commit in 4* Safety King Mack who announced his commitment to penn state earlier today.

Reports are saying that the Big Ten is “not done” and could be looking to possibly add more to its conference ranks.

Does this big move impact schools like Clemson, Miami, and Florida state in the ACC and have them consider a jump to the SEC?

What happens with Oregon, Stanford, and Washington out west? Do they stand pact and try to salvage the PAC like the BIG 12 did when Texas and Oklahoma announced they were leaving?

If the cream of the ACC start looking around in wake of this news and do decide a conference change would be best for them, does that “finally” open up the UNC and Duke merge to the Big Ten to even further bolster their college basketball might? Feel like those 2 teams and the big ten have been discussed a lot over the years and the fit makes sense especially academically.

What about Norte Dame? A source at Norte Dame acknowledges that being independent is no longer sustainable and it appears the big ten is trying their hardest to land Norte Dame. Combining them with Stanford would make sense as far as academics and could be interesting.

So many question marks as all those schools not in the SEC and Big Ten start to look around and evaluate what is best for them.

For what it’s worth, USC approached the big ten about joining months ago and rumors speculate that UCLA and USC could exceed $100 million annually in media rights. Both schools will also join as full members for all sports except beach volleyball.

Also, 2021 Athlete/WR Liam Clifford committed to Penn State yesterday. He is the younger brother of Sean Clifford and is having an impressive sophomore season at St. X. He is already gifted with great speed with 4.3-4.4 40’ speed.

Hopefully we will get to see a Clifford to Clifford touchdown before Sean graduates. Welcome to the family!
