Hello everyone! Tonight will be the first GIS Coalition Meeting of the Spring Semester!
Clio Andris will be our guest speaker. She will talk about her work on social capital and connectivity, and share any advice she might have going into the workforce, or continuing into graduate school.

Tonight, Geography Graduate student Ryan Mullins will be speaking at the GIS Coalition
meeting at 7:00 in 101 Walker. He will be sharing about
cartographic representation and cognition and his research. Ryan will also be a
great resource regarding questions about attending grad school and the GeoVista
Center.

November 17-23 is Geography Awareness Week, and the GIS Coalition will celebrate with a guest speaker on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in 101 Walker Building -- all are welcome!
Alumnus Jeff Tornatore (B.S. 1991) is a GIS Project Manager at Michael Baker Jr., Inc. In Thursday's meeting, he will share his career path as it has followed the changes in methodologies used to produce flood insurance rate maps for FEMA, as well as current projects, career development advice, and how he is continuing his own professional growth.
