Clematis season is here! 🌸
Known as the “Queen of the Flowering Vines,” clematis brings color all summer long. With more than 350 species found worldwide, these perennials are a garden favorite.
At the Arboretum, you can discover more than 50 clematis specimens representing 18 different varieties, with peak blooms from late May through late August (and some species flowering into October!).
📍Most of our clematis can be found in the Rose and Fragrance Garden, while Pennsylvania natives like Clematis virginiana bloom in the Pollinator and Bird Garden and Childhood’s Gate Children’s Garden.
