The Clinic was so happy to be invited and to attend, along with the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, the media event with the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, where we were treated to a panel discussion and personal meetings with the COO, CFO, General Counsel, and Assoc. GC of the Phillies organization, and some parting words of wisdom from the Chairman himself. We also had consistent interest and enthusiasm for our Clinic's educational mission and career-building focus, and happily look forward to bringing a number of these industry luminaries for discussions and presentations with our students very soon!

As part of our public service mission, the A.S. & E. Law Clinic especially focuses on helping creative professionals who don't yet have the income to afford the legal services that every artist may come to need. So, as we all start off this new school year, our nearly-all-new staff of student associates looks forward to continuing to be a trusted source for information and advice on the copyright, trademark, publicity rights, or entertainment industry-related issues that arise in the State College community and beyond.

Today, Professor Scott and the student associates of the Clinic were thrilled to interact with students from the business journalism program of the Penn State Smeal College of Business, to have an information session and dialogue about the many legal issues and challenges surrounding freelance ventures and small-group startups in new media. The Clinic is at its best when serving as an educational service answering the needs of the young media community.
