Graduate Student Research Poster Competition | Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences The Office of Graduate Education and Research will host a spring poster competition to showcase and reward the exemplary research happening within the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences graduate community. All graduate students, faculty, staff, and administration are welcome to attend.
The deadline for the EMS Centennial Graduate Research Travel Award ($1000 to three graduate students) has been EXTENDED to Friday February 24! Consideration will be limited to the first 25 applicants who submit complete, valid packets:

Easterling III, professor of geography and dean of Penn State’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS), to serve as director for the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) in Washington D.C., which supports fundamental research spanning the atmospheric, earth, ocean and polar sciences.

Dr. Rush Holt, executive officer of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), holds a doctorate in physics, was an assistant director of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, one of the largest alternative energy research facilities in the country, and also taught physics and science policy at Swarthmore College. He served for 16 years as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing New Jersey's 12th Congressional District.
