What a day in the O’Hara Golf Studio! The first ever O'Hara Golf Clinic. Eight 6th, 7th and 8th grade golfers received individual lessons with Nick Gorman PGA, Director of Instruction at Llanerch Country Club. The individual lessons included setup and posture improvements, swing tips and practice habits that will definitely improve their game. Each young golfer also received putting lessons from one of O’Hara’s best golfers Brian Smyth. Sophomore Smyth gave each golfer some specific putting and chipping drills to practice.

Cobbs Creek Tour: O’Hara golf team members met with Jim Wagner of Hanse Golf Course Design at Cobbs Creek Golf Course for a tour of the re-construction of the historic golf course. Mr. Wagner shared the history of Cobbs Creek, his vision for the renovated golf course and the Cobbs Creek Foundation’s plan to host a PGA Tour event featuring the world’s best golfers at Cobbs Creek. Our golfers saw and heard how a putting green is built and how an architect lays out a new golf hole from tee to green. Jim Wagner graduated from O’Hara in 1984 and enjoyed comparing his O’Hara golf team experience with today’s O’Hara golfers.

Alaina Carson had a great day 2 with a 77 at Penn State’s Blue Course to finish in 10th place out of 36 in the AAA Championship. Another medal for this accomplished golfer and great student-athlete.
