Gesu Parish and School have been guided by the Society of Jesus since the parish community was founded in 1926. The church and school are located directly across the street from John Carroll University, one of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the nation. This proximity enhances the Jesuit identity of both parish and school and enables the community rich opportunities to understand and p

ractice the Spiritual Exercises fostered by the Society of Jesus. Parishioners and students are highly encouraged to collaborate with the Society of Jesus in living out the Jesuit mission in the local and global communities. This involves a variety of service projects locally, an annual parish service day in December, and two mission trips to Honduras each year. Prayer for Generosity

Ms. Gilliam is joining Gesu as the Front Office Coordinator! She is originally from Alabama, but has lived in the Cleveland area her whole adult life. She loves football (Roll Tide), fall, and of course, family. Ms. Gilliam began her career at Playhouse Square then transitioned into a full-time mom to her son, James, a recent high school graduate. By far her greatest joy in life has been the students she has come to know and love. She spent eight years at St. Francis in Gates Mills as the Librarian and an educational aide. Ask her about her beloved dog, Dexter.

Mrs. Meglen is so excited to join the Gesu community this year as a 5th and 6th grade Math teacher! She previously spent eight years teaching 5th-8th grade math before stepping away from the classroom to pursue a dream of coaching Division I golf at Cleveland State University. She is thrilled to be returning to teaching and can’t wait to get to know her students, challenge them, cheer them on, and make math a little more fun along the way.

Ms. Baligush is excited to teach Reading and English to 5th grade students at Gesu this year! Her experience started as an anchor/reporter in broadcast journalism at various television stations, including WFMJ in Youngstown. She later taught both journalism and video production for nine years in Florida. Last year, she was an aide at an elementary school in her hometown of Solon, where she enjoyed coaching students in reading and writing. Ms. Baligush has a son in college and a daughter in high school. They are happy to be back home in Ohio where they can enjoy all of the different seasons.. even winter!

Ms. Rossen is so excited to be joining the Gesu community as the 6th grade English and Reading teacher this school year! She is originally from Lakewood, Ohio, and earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ohio University (Go Bobcats!). She has always loved reading and is especially excited to share that love with her students and help them discover books and stories that are meaningful to them. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and going to concerts

Ms. O’Sullivan is joining Gesu as the 4th grade Math/Religion teacher! She has her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and received her Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program. As part of the ACE program, she served as a 3rd grade teacher at an underserved Catholic school in Cleveland while simultaneously completing her Master’s coursework.

We are excited to welcome Ms. O’Sullivan to the Gesu community!
