What an inspiring day! We were lucky enough to hear from Denis Shine, Reentry Advocate, about the amazing work being done with the Prison Education Project. We also heard from a graduate of the program, Natasha White who bravely shared her story. They shared a heartfelt message of hope and new beginnings and we are grateful for this experience.

The Women’s Society sponsors the Ida H. Early Composing a Life Panel that takes place during the SheLeads Symposium. Our featured panelists will share and discuss how they have combined career, personal life, and other interests beyond graduation. You won’t want to miss it! We took a ride on the brand new Mary Meachum electric train and the Monday evening. We also spent time getting to know our panel speakers for the Composing a Life Discussion that will take place during the SheLeads event on October 25th. WashU and St. Louis share a history that runs all the way back to the 1904 World’s Fair. During our private tour of the World’s Fair exhibit at the Missouri History Museum, we saw historic photos and scale models of our own Brookings Hall and other buildings on campus. This is just one of the things that makes WashU so unique and special.

We were thrilled to spend the morning at the for private time in the new 1904 World’s fair exhibit and a wonderful lecture from Adam Kloppe. We can’t thank Adam Kloppe and Sam Moore enough for showing us a great time, keeping us laughing, and teaching us so much about the World’s Fair. If you missed it, we hope you will “Meet Us in St. Louis” for our next event!

Being a part of the WashU community is so special! It was a fun surprise to see the WashU balloon in all its glory at the this weekend. We love seeing little glimmers of WashU all over St. Louis!

Welcome back Women’s Society! We had our fall kickoff event last night which included a welcome reception in the beautiful Bluedorn Room featuring Tom Ridgely, Producing and Artistic Director and Lisa Weingarth, Senior Advisor for St. Louis Initiatives as guest speakers. Following the reception, we made our way to Tisch Park where we enjoyed a production of The Tempest brought to WashU by The St. Louis Shakespeare Festival. It was a wonderful night with perfect weather! Thank you to all who joined us!
