🇺🇸 Today, CRCA pauses to remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed by that day.
We are especially grateful that our students have the opportunity to learn from someone who experienced the aftermath firsthand—our own Officer Dave.
Following the attacks of 9/11, Officer Dave responded to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where Flight 93 came down. He spent nine days in Shanksville, serving during one of the most heartbreaking moments in our nation's history.
This week, Officer Dave shared his firsthand experience with our high school students through a special Q&A and gave them the opportunity to hear directly from someone who was there. He also shared his personal journal from those nine days, giving our students a glimpse into what he witnessed and experienced.
He also visited with our 4th grade students, sharing his story and helping them understand the significance of September 11 in a way that goes beyond a textbook.
These are the stories we must continue to tell. These are the sacrifices we must continue to honor and the lessons we must never forget.
We are incredibly blessed to have a true hero serving right here in our building. Thank you, Officer Dave, for your service, your sacrifice, and for being willing to share your story with the next generation.
CRCA will never forget. 🇺🇸
