Our Walnut family showed our school spirit in our Hawaiian gear today!

5th grade students made a claim about how a watermelon can explode using rubber bands. With the help of 555 rubber bands, students investigated their claims. 🍉

5th graders enjoyed their final RIF program of the year at the Uniondale Public Library. They were excited to receive their new books, but even more excited to explore the Teen Space they are now moving up to.

Mrs. King visited our Pre-K class to help with a cooking lesson!!

Our 2nd graders had a wonderful time visiting and exploring the children’s room at the Uniondale Public Library!!

Students in Walnut Street School's LIKE Mentoring Program celebrated an incredible year of mentoring with a trip to the law offices of Certilman Balin Adler and Hyman. Every week our mentors visit us, but this week we got to visit them where they work!

5th grade students from Ms. VB ‘s, Mrs. Bergen’s and Mrs. Tejada’s classes became scientists for the day at the Dolan DNA Learning Center!!! From a hands on experiment, to a virtual forensic lab, these students had the best day!!!
