Mrs. Heather’s 5K KinderStars have some exciting news—we have our very first members of the Lace Leader Club!

Ean was the FIRST to join the club! He got to sign the shoe and received a special shoe keychain for his backpack. And it wasn’t long before Raelynn became member number TWO!

Learning to tie your own shoes is a BIG accomplishment when you’re in 5K, and we are SO proud of these two for practicing, persevering, and mastering a brand-new skill!

Way to go, Ean and Raelynn! Keep LEADING, LEARNING & SHINING—one lace at a time!

👟⭐️We are tying up success in 5K! Who’ll be next?⭐️👟

⭐️September Attendance Recap: Every Day Counts, Monarch Stars!⭐️

Our September attendance numbers are in! We finished the month with a 94.62% attendance rate. As we continue through the school year, our September data is another important reminder that every day—and every minute of learning—matters!

📚 94.62% overall attendance rate

⏰ 240 tardies

💙💛On National Coaches Day, we’re celebrating two VERY important instructional coaches at MES—our Reading Coach, Allie Wells, and our Math Coach, Lisbeth Kelly! These two are instrumental to the instructional leadership at Monarch! From supporting teachers and analyzing data to modeling strategies, planning instruction, sharing resources, and always asking, “What’s best for our students?”—their impact can be seen in classrooms throughout our school. Allie and Lisbeth, thank you for supporting, guiding, encouraging, and empowering our teachers so that every Monarch Star has the opportunity to LEAD, LEARN, and SHINE! Monarch is so much better because you are here!💛💙

🦹🏻‍♀️⭐CALLING ALL MONARCH HEROES!⭐🦸🏽‍♂️

It’s October, which means Red Ribbon Week is right around the corner! Red Ribbon Week is October 26–30, and this year we’re ready to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Our theme is “Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free!” and we have a SUPER week planned for our Monarch Stars! Each day brings a different way to join the fun—from showing our Monarch pride and teaming up against drugs to celebrating our future dreams, assembling as superheroes, and ending the week RED-y to be drug free!

Check out the attached information for all five dress-up days and start planning those outfits! (UCSD dress code still applies.)

But remember—being a hero is about more than wearing a cape. It’s about making good choices, showing kindness, helping others, and making a difference every single day. Our Stars will even have special Monarch Hero Missions throughout the week to put those superpowers into action!

At Monarch, our heroes:
🦸🏼LEAD!
🦸🏾‍♂️LEARN!
🦹🏼SHINE!
🦹🏽‍♂️LIVE DRUG FREE!

💙On World Teachers’ Day, we’re celebrating the incredible teachers who make MES such a special place to learn and grow! Every day, our teachers do so much more than teach lessons. They encourage, challenge, nurture, inspire, celebrate, problem-solve, and believe in our Monarch Stars. They turn classrooms into communities and ordinary moments into opportunities for children to discover just how much they are capable of.💙

💛To our MES teachers: We see your hard work. We appreciate your heart. And we are so grateful for the difference you make—one student, one lesson, and one day at a time. Our Monarch Stars LEAD, LEARN & SHINE because of teachers like YOU!💛

⭐️Happy World Teachers’ Day to the teachers who shine BRIGHT at Monarch Elementary School! Monarch is better because you are here!⭐️

🎀Our hallways were filled with PINK, smiles, and LOTS of Monarch spirit as our students and staff came together for PINK OUT! Pink Out Day was about more than wearing a color—it was about showing love, strength, hope, and support for all those whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. We LOVE seeing our Monarch family come together for something bigger than ourselves. One school. One family. One BIG sea of PINK! 🎀

🧹✨Today we’re celebrating three VERY important members of our Monarch family—Mr. Andrew, Ms. Candy, and Mr. Barry! They do SO much more than keep our school clean and sparkling! They work behind the scenes every single day, lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed, take care of our students and staff, and help make MES a place we’re proud to call home. On National School Custodians Day, we want them to know just how much they are seen, valued, and appreciated! Our school truly SHINES brighter because of YOU! Thank you, Mr. Andrew, Ms. Candy, and Mr. Barry, for ALL you do for MES! Monarch is so much better because you are here!✨🧹
