First Scrub Day of the year in Vet Science!

Students participated in their first summative assessment, proper hand washing, utilizing Glo Germ to simulate germs on our skin.

Proper hand washing in a veterinary office setting is essential to keeping humans and animals safe!

DID YOU KNOW? Our hands carry, on average, 3,200 different germs? One USDA study found that up to 97% of people don’t wash their hands correctly!

Did you know? Pure pumpkin is a great food to help regulate your pet’s digestive system! Always check with your veterinarian before making any adjustments to your animal’s diet and never feed pumpkin pie filling.

Small Animal Tech made dog treats today after spending part of the week learning about what is and isn’t appropriate for our pets in our Thanksgiving dinners.

Pumpkin, peanut butter, egg, and whole wheat flour are going to make some special dogs extra happy this Thanksgiving!

I remember the energy during State week… the excitement and hard work at practice. I remember the tears shed as we prepared to close out the marching band season. I miss guard SO much. I’d give anything to spin again.

I know how difficult it is to be an Ag kid and a band kid. Missing practices to go to FFA events or FFA events to go to practices.

I have absolutely loved getting to know these three individuals over the last few months. I loved being able to tell them about my time in guard because it gave us at least one thing we had in common. They are hard workers. They are passionate. I am proud to be their teacher. I can’t wait for them to see the poster I hung outside the Ag room tonight—I hope they know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Ms. K is rooting for them and I cannot wait to be there in person on Saturday to watch them run their final show.

After a disheartening week, one where I found out some people have said I “don’t teach,”, act like an “overgrown child,”, and other nasty things, it was great to witness some fruits of my labor at NKY FFA’s Freshman Leadership Conference.

One of the downfalls of being a teacher is constantly getting dogged on by people who have never been in a classroom, never taught, and more. I’m thankful to have days like today to remind me of the lives I have impacted in my short time as a teacher.

I had three freshmen boys take time out of their Saturday to attend this leadership conference and I was able to witness three former students lead workshops for the conference!
