General USMLE tips for beginners.
1, Start early to study preferably during medical school average duration of prep for step 1 is more than 1yr..
2, Read to understand, try not to cram the concepts.
3, Read your materials several times.
4, Form discussion groups and join online forums.
5, Read several exam experiences of high scorers.
5, study study and study and write the exam when you feel you are ready.
6, Remember your score is your greatest asset. Don't underestimate it's impact.
7, Get a tutor if you feel you need extra assistance in your preparation.
8, start early to plan for the financial need of the exam
9, Try not to be discouraged be what people say about the exam including the politics involved.
