๐Ÿ“š Professional Learning in Action at BCCTC!

Today, the BCCTC team came together for our PLC with a focus on lesson planning and data review.

Effective instruction starts with intentional planning. Our teachers and staff spent time collaborating, reviewing student data, discussing instructional strategies, and making sure our lessons are aligned to what our students need to be successful.

PLC time gives us an opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen our practices, and keep student achievement at the center of the work.

At BCCTC, we are not just planning lessons. We are planning for student success, career readiness, and brighter futures. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

๐ŸŽฎ Learning Meets Gaming at Bullock County Career Technical Center! ๐Ÿ’ป

Yesterday, Ms. Watkinsโ€™ Business Technology students took typing practice to another level with a coding-based game created by Ms. Watkins and inspired by the popular 90s game Duck Hunt!

The goal was simple: help students master their home row keys, strengthen keyboarding accuracy, and build the daily conditioning needed to become faster, more confident typists. But our students did much more than practice โ€” they competed, collaborated, and rose to the challenge!

Several students scored more than 100,000 points as they worked to improve their skills. ๐Ÿ†

This is what happens when we connect technology, gaming, culture, and instruction in ways that make learning relevant to students. Engagement increases. Confidence grows. Skills develop. And students become excited about learning.

At Bullock County Career Technical Center, weโ€™re continuing to find innovative ways to prepare students for the classroom, college, careers, and the digital world.

Weโ€™re closing the literacy gap โ€” one code at a time. ๐Ÿ’ปโŒจ๏ธ๐ŸŽฏ

๐Ÿ”ฅ THE SPARKS WERE FLYING TODAY AT BCCTC! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

CTE is not just about sitting in a classroom. It is about learning a skill, working with your hands, building confidence, and preparing for a career. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ

Today, students in Ms. V. Warmackโ€™s Welding class were getting hands-on experience with TIG welding, developing the precision, patience, and technical skills used by professionals in the welding industry. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿญ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿญโšก๏ธ

This is what career readiness looks like.

Our students are not waiting until graduation to figure out what comes next. They are learning, creating, practicing, and preparing NOW.

At Bullock County Career Technical Center, we are exposing students to careers that can lead to certifications, continued education, entrepreneurship, and high-demand opportunities.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Skills today.
๐Ÿ’ฐ Careers tomorrow.
๐Ÿ Hornets ready for the workforce.

And trust usโ€ฆ weโ€™re just getting started.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CTE INSTRUCTOR ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

Whether you find us at Bullock County High School or Bullock County Career Technical Center, one thing is certain: our CTE instructors are working!

A day in Career Tech can look like teaching a lesson, demonstrating a skill, troubleshooting technology, facilitating hands-on learning, reviewing industry standards, mentoring students, preparing for certifications, connecting classroom instruction to careersโ€”and sometimes doing all of that before lunch. ๐Ÿ˜‚

CTE is different because our classrooms are designed to connect education to the real world. We arenโ€™t simply preparing students to pass the next test. We are helping them discover careers, develop employability skills, earn credentials, gain college credit, become leaders and prepare for what comes after graduation.

Across BCHS and BCCTC, our instructors bring their own industry knowledge, experiences and personalities into their classrooms every single day.

From Business & Business Technology, Dual Enrollment, Health Sciences, Welding, JROTC, Cosmetology & Barbering, Entertainment & Media Arts and our other career-focused opportunities, we have one shared goal:

Give Bullock County students OPTIONS.

College. Career. Certifications. Entrepreneurship. Military. Workforce.

Whatever their next step may be, we want them prepared to take it.

๐Ÿ“ธ Just another day in the life of the people behind Career Tech.

We teach. We demonstrate. We mentor. We prepare. We build futures.

๐Ÿ Go Hornets!

Before the first bell rings, the learning starts with us. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

This summer, members of the BCCTC team attended the Alabama CTE Summer Professional Development Conference to sharpen our skills, explore new ideas, and connect with educators from across the state.

We returned energized, inspired, and ready to make an even greater impact on the students we serve.

Great programs are built by educators who never stop learning, and weโ€™re blessed to be part of a team that is committed to excellence.

Hereโ€™s to growth, innovation, and another incredible year at BCCTC.

Go Hornets! ๐Ÿ

Meet the BCCTC Crew. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

A few moments of fun between classes turned into a reminder of what makes Bullock County Career Technical Center special: our people.

From JROTC, Welding, Health Sciences, Cosmetology & Barbering, Media & Entertainment Arts, Business Technologies, Dual Enrollment, and Virtual Learning, our instructors are committed to creating opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.

And while each of us proudly introduced our role, none of this momentum happens without leadership. Under the direction of Mr. Terry Crawford, BCCTC is entering a new chapter filled with innovation, growth, partnerships, and expanded opportunities for our students. His vision is helping us build a program that not only prepares students for graduation, but equips them for college, careers, industry credentials, and lifelong success.

We are excited about where weโ€™re headed, and even more excited about who weโ€™re taking with us.

Truth be told, weโ€™re all a little better in black and gold. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

Hereโ€™s to full-circle moments, a team that believes in students, and a future that looks brighter than ever.

Go Hornets! ๐Ÿ

Send some ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’› to our crew! Shout out your childโ€™s career tech instructor! Letโ€™s go!
