"I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all."

Happy Poetry Month! To celebrate here is another kind of poem, a haiku by Matsuo Basho,
"as I clap my hands
with the echoes, it begins to dawn-
the summer moon"
A haiku is a Japanese form of prose poetry made of 3 lines, typically with a 5/7/5 syllable structure. Sometimes that structure can be lost, namely when a Japanese haiku is translated into English, but their magic still remains.
