Our Bronco Builders laid out, dug, leveled, placed gravel, set forms, and placed concrete today on a 16x20 pad for a shed they will erect. Special shout out to Kurk Concrete for their assistance and guidance, materials, and support. Also need to give a shout out to Lincoln Contractors Supply as they graciously donated an aluminum screed board to our program.

Why live in a small rural community like Union Grove? Because community still matters and people care for each other!

A couple weeks ago I was contacted by a community member who had some damage to the bottom of her shed and trim and wanted some advice on how to repair it. Unfortunately money and time did not allow for taking off all the siding and replacing the corner moldings and the damaged siding pieces so we decided to make a skirting that would not only make the shed look more aesthetically pleasing but would also help to prevent future damage. In addition, while inspecting the shed I also noted that her doors were rotting through and really needed to be replaced as well. Unfortunately, before we could get to the project, some unfortunate circumstances took place, making an already tight budget non-existent. Rather than having this awesome women need to put off these repairs, I reached out to Bower Construction, and without hesitation, they volunteered to supply the materials necessary to complete the project. When Union Grove Lumber heard what was going on, they too jumped in to help. We had our Resi students build new doors and paint them up and today I was able to install the doors and skirting for a very happy lady! Thank you for being the awesome people you are Bower Construction and Union Grove Lumber!!!

What a special day for our program, our school, and most importantly, our students! Today we celebrated our new partnership with the AGC of Wisconsin as an ACE Academy. As I sat back reflecting on the inclusion of several Titans in our Industry, our educational partners in Gateway Technical College and the NCSRCC, several of our outstanding community leaders, and our awesome Administrators, each giving of their time to honor our program and the students dedication to advancing themselves, I couldn't help but marvel at how truly blessed I am to have such great people assisting me in providing the education these students so greatly deserve. I often tell our students how lucky they are to have the support and backing they do but after today it would be pretty hard for them to not see how truly supported they are! Thank you to all of our business partners, our Administration, our Community leaders, our citizens who recently put students safety and education first, and the AGC, we will continue to strive for excellence for you all!

Thanks to the Southern Lakes Builders Association, 55 of our students got the opportunity to attend the Build my Future event at the fairgrounds. The students got to converse directly with potential future employers, operate equipment, complete various tasks within the trades, and create connections for their future. What a gorgeous day all around and we are so blessed to have the great business partners we do who are so giving of their time for our students!

If you've driven by the school recently you've been able to see the progress the students are making on a few of their builds. With limited space we've had to be creative to build level and plumb but the students have done a great job of dealing with the chilly mornings and slope of the lot to do great work!

Well Summer flew by and we are one week away from a new group of UGHS Bronco Builders making their way into our classroom. We will soon have another terrific group of young Men and Women who are excitedly learning the tools and processes of the Construction Trades. With that said, if you are looking for custom built sheds or buildings, now is the time to reach out and we can begin planning your builds.
