We are excited to announce that we are a recipient of the 2025 RAVE Foundation Community Grant!

Through this grant, we will use soccer to inspire youth and strengthen communities. The grant will support the Soccer for Success program, and will create opportunities for free play and build inclusive spaces this year. 👏⚽

🎒✨ Earlier this week, the Yakima School District received a generous donation from Costco: 600 backpacks, along with a $500 Costco gift card to support Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School students! 🏫💝

The donation was graciously received by MLK Jr. Principal Samantha Howell and Assistant Principal Sydney John, and was presented by Costco's Membership and Marketing Manager, Steven Anderson. 👏 The backpacks came just in time to help students prepare for a successful school year, easing the burden for families and ensuring all students had the tools they needed to thrive in the classroom. 📚🌟

"Costco's generosity will make a difference for so many families as we prepare for the new school year," said Principal Samantha Howell. 💬 "Having the right supplies helps set our students up for success, and thanks to Costco's support, hundreds of children will start the year feeling prepared and confident. Our schools are on a two-hour delay today, Friday, February 7, 2025. Middle and high school begins at 10:00 am and elementary school begins at 10:45 am. Bus routes 2, 8, 19 and 26 on snow routes. Breakfast available upon arrival. No a.m. preschool and no a.m. YV-TECH.

Two-Hour School Delay
Thursday, February 15: Due to very icy conditions on the west side of our district boundary, all YSD schools will be delayed by two hours today. There will be no morning preschool, no morning classes at YV-TECH. Buses will be on snow routes (morning only).
