Just a reminder to our UCE families that today is a half-day of school. Dismissal will begin at 10:50 a.m.

HALF DAY — WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Due to the continued heat and temperatures in several of our buildings, Union City Community Schools will have a half day of school tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2.

Students who attend centers in the afternoon will still have buses provided for them to attend as normal as those buildings have air conditioning.

For students participating in after-school activities, activity leaders and coaches will communicate directly with families regarding any changes to practices or schedules due to the weather.

Thank you to our students and staff for making the best of the heat today, and thank you to our families for your understanding.

We are officially off and running for a new school year!

It has been great welcoming our students back into the building and seeing the energy and excitement that comes with the start of a new year. We are incredibly thankful for our staff and all the work they have put in to help our students get settled, build routines, and start the year strong.

Thank you as well to our families for your patience, flexibility, and support as we get everything rolling. We truly appreciate the partnership and are excited for all that this school year will bring.

UCE kicked off the 2026-27 school year with ROCKS and our annual flag raising ceremony!

Thank you to all our families for getting their kiddos to school for the first day. We had 96% of our students in attendance today. You ROCK!

We’re excited to welcome our families into the building! Come meet your teacher, see your classroom, and get ready for a great school year!

Families are also welcome to bring any classroom donations with them to Open House.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 11th, is Enrollment Night at the Elementary.

3:00–6:00 PM

2026–2027 School Year Supply Lists

Hello, Union City Elementary families!

We hope you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying these last few weeks before the start of a new school year. As we begin preparing to welcome our students back, we wanted to share each grade level's school supply list so families can start gathering the items they'll need for a successful year.

The Charger Press, which will include class lists and additional back-to-school information, will be released soon.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back at our Open House on Thursday, August 20, from 5:00–6:30 p.m. It's a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher, visit the classroom, and get excited for the 2026–2027 school year!

Career Day was a success for our 4th-grade students! We are grateful for the support of our community members who generously donated their time to speak about their careers and help prepare our Chargers for their future. Their presentations inspired excitement and curiosity about the many career opportunities that lie ahead.
