Miftaahul Uloom Academy Miftaahul Uloom Academy is a Pre-K to 9th grade Islamic Montessori school Alhamdulillah, the school is continuously growing each year.

Miftaahul Uloom (The Key to Knowledge) Academy is an AdvancED and CISNA accredited PreK to 12th grade Islamic School in Union City, NJ. The school began as a cooperative home-schooling center at residential building in Guttenberg in 1994 founded by Sr Faatimah Yanes. At the request of the families and with the support of the community, the school moved to the Islamic Educational Center in Union City in the year 2001, and became an officially recognized private parochial school serving Pre- K through 9th grade. In 2007, the school moved to a larger three story building at 501 15th Street, Union City. In 2017, Miftaahul Uloom Academy received an accreditation from AdvancED and CISNA. Miftaahul Uloom Academy is committed to ensuring that our students are in a safe and loving environment with frequent, on-site state inspections. We are a lead and copper free school zone.

Mashallah! 🍋 A sweet surprise from our 4th graders! Our students put their Montessori skills into action by making fresh lemonade to welcome and surprise their parents at Back-to-School Night. They even used two sweeteners—sugar and agave—to make their lemonade a little healthier! A little sweetness, a lot of teamwork, and plenty of smiles. Alhamdulillah for these special moments of learning, giving, and growing together! 🤍

Each year, our Montessori community comes together to celebrate Peace Day. 🕊️ Upper Elementary begins by lighting the peace candle, followed by Lower Elementary and Primary as we join together in song spreading the light and message of peace throughout our school and, InshaAllah, into the world.
