Spring has sprung in our classrooms!!
We tried something so majestic today, the Rorschach painting technique to make our very own butterflies! 🎨
Here’s how our little artists did it while also getting practice with following directions.
-Fold your paper in half
-Open it up and splash colorful paint on one side
-Fold it back over and rub, rub, rub!
-Open it up and… a beautiful butterfly appears!
The looks on their faces when they opened their papers at the end were absolutely PRICELESS! It was pure wonder and joy! Every butterfly turned out completely unique, just like each of our amazing kids.
Spring is the perfect time to explore color, creativity, and a little bit of magic. We love watching our little ones explore and discover that art can surprise you!

Construction is underway and we are seeing the progress with our exciting new expansion. Let’s just say… our littlest fans have the BEST seats in the house!
Every morning it the talk of drop off and throughout the day little faces are press up against the windows to catch a glimpse of the excavator and bobcats doing their thing. The excitement is absolutely priceless! Who knew heavy machinery could be such a crowd-pleaser?
We are SO thrilled to watch this new section take shape, and we love that our children get a front row view of something truly being built, right before their eyes. What a real-world learning moment!
Stay tuned for more construction updates as we grow, because great things are coming for our community!

Watermelon! 🍉
This week, our little learners explored the letter W in the most delicious way. They creating their very own watermelon masterpieces using paper plates!
Each classroom brought their own creative twist to the project. Our youngest friends practiced recognizing the letter W and got hands-on with color and shape, while one of our older classrooms took it a step further by carefully painting each and every seed before adding the seeds to their watermelons. The patience and focus they showed was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so engage in each stage.
All the watermelon were as unique as the little artists who made them.

This week, our preschoolers are celebrating friendship and kindness as we prepare for Valentine’s Day!
Today during circle time, we read the beautiful book “Be Kind” by Pat Zietlow Miller, and wow—our little ones had SO much to say!
What started as story time turned into the most meaningful conversation about friendship. Our preschoolers spent extra time talking about what it means to stick up for our friends when they’re feeling sad, left out, or need help.
We heard incredible ideas from our little friends:
“If someone is sad, I can sit with them”
“I can tell a friend to stop if they’re being mean”
“We can ask someone to play with us if they’re alone”
It was amazing to see their big hearts and thoughtful ideas about being brave enough to help a friend. These conversations remind us that kindness isn’t just about being nice—it’s about standing up and speaking up when our friends need us.
We’re so proud of the caring, compassionate community our children are building together!

Shape Fun with Play-Doh! 🟢🔵🔺
Today our little learners explored shapes in the most hands-on way possible, by rolling, squishing, and molding Play-Doh!
As they created circles, squares, triangles, hearts and more, they weren’t just recognizing shapes—they were also building essential fine motor skills. Every squeeze, roll, and press strengthens those little hand muscles that will help with everything from holding a pencil to buttoning a coat.
It’s amazing how much learning happens through play! We love seeing their creativity and concentration as they work.

Today was a special day as our preschoolers came together to decorate our school Christmas tree! Each classroom joined in the fun, carefully hanging ornaments and adding their own special touches to make our tree sparkle. The highlight? Watching everyone come and work together, the processing of how our tree skirt works and culminating with one child placing the star on top of the tree! 🌟 You could see the excitement and pride on their faces as our tree came to life.
This collaborative activity gave our children wonderful opportunities to:
⭐ Practice taking turns and work as a team
⭐ Develop their fine motor skills and problem solving skills through hanging ornaments
⭐ Experience the joy of contributing to our school community
⭐ Celebrate the spirit of togetherness during the holiday season
Our tree looks absolutely beautiful, and it’s even more special knowing that every child had a hand in creating the festive display. Thank you to all our little elves for making our school shine bright this holiday season!

Exciting developments here at the center: Ground has been broken on the new infant center!
Registration will open by the end of Spring 2026 for 36 new infant spots available in Fall 2026!
Our little engineers today were absolutely mesmerized watching real construction vehicles at work! We observed excavators, bobcats, and other heavy machinery as they cleared debris and collected old vegetation.
The excitement was contagious as children watched these powerful machines scoop, lift, and transport materials. We talked about the different jobs each vehicle does and how construction crews work together to transform outdoor spaces.
This real-world learning experience sparked wonderful conversations about:
• How machines help people do big jobs
• What happens to plants and materials when they’re cleared away
• The different tools and vehicles construction workers use
• Safety around big equipment
Nothing beats hands-on observation for building vocabulary, understanding cause and effect, and sparking curiosity about the world of work!”

Our little scientists were at the light table this morning exploring filling, transferring and emptying containers with vibrant colored rice! Watching their great team work as they carefully scoop, pour, and transfer the rice between jars and containers was a beautiful lesson in so many skills.
This simple activity supported fine motor development as small hands practiced pouring and grasping, practice with social skills, problem solving, built early math concepts through filling and emptying, and encouraged scientific thinking as they discovered how the light transformed the colors. The concentration and smiles on their faces as they worked was absolutely priceless!
Sensory play like this isn’t just fun—it’s how young children make sense of their world, one colorful grain at a time.

Learning to write the letter J today! 📝✨
Our educator is right there alongside our students, offering gentle guidance as they practice their pencil grip and letter formation. You’ll notice some of our friends are still developing their tripod grip - and that’s perfectly okay!
Every child develops fine motor skills at their own pace. Our educators provide individualized support, helping little hands explore comfortable and effective ways to hold their pencils. These one-on-one moments are where the magic happens - building confidence, strengthening muscles, and celebrating every attempt.
The concentration on their faces says it all!

What a fantastic Trunk or Treat we had last Friday! Our hearts are full from seeing all the adorable costumes and big smiles making their way from family to family and trunk to trunk. What a perfect way to kick off the Halloween weekend in such a safe atmosphere.
HUGE thank yous to all the families who decorated trunks, volunteered their time and came out to celebrate with us. Your creativity and enthusiasm made it truly special.
I was enjoying myself so much that I forgot to take many pictures. Here are a few shots I wanted to share.

🍂 Fall Fun at Adventure Montessori Academy! 🍁
Today was extra special — every classroom joined in on the fall fun! From our tiniest learners to our pre-K friends, everyone got their hands a little painted (okay… maybe a lot painted 😄) while creating beautiful pinecone art.
These autumn treasures sparked wonderful conversations throughout our classrooms:
🌰 Where do pinecones come from?
🐿️ What animals might use them?
🍁 Why do we see more of them in the fall?
We love seeing curiosity bloom as our little learners explore, create, and discover the world around them. ❤️
