Congratulations to our state runners, Ben and Alli Gautsche. Alli finished in 164th out of 255 runners and Ben finished 72nd out of 256 runners. Both had wrapped up great seasons with today’s race.
Ben ran his last race as a Charger and leaves behind a legacy, including owning the XC record with a time of 16:15 at last year’s state meet!

Congratulations to our final runners of the week this season! These individuals helped our teams earn a 6th place finish for the girls out of 13 teams and an 8th place finish for the boys out of 16 teams at regionals. Congratulations to Ben and Alli Gatusche who earned All-Region honors at Ella Sharp Park on Friday and will compete in the state finals on November 1st.

Congratulations to our medalists today at the Kalamazoo Christian Comet Invitational. Alli Gautshe - 20th in the girls race. In the boys race Ben Gautsche - 5th, Noah June - 24th, Cullen Decker - 28th. The Crusin’ Comet award given by coaches to athletes who ran a great race went to Brady Anthony who ran a big PR and Jassi Kaur who gutted out a great race and ran close to a season best time.

The girls team placed 7th out of 10 teams and the boys team placed 8th out of 12 teams.

Congratulations to our middle school team who had so me great races today in Portage at the middle school regional meet. Lily Alden (15:08) and Lauren VanKampen (15:14) finished 32nd and 34th; both running big PR times. The boys also turned in great races led by Eddie Connelly in 38th place followed closely by teammate Parker Mathis in 39th place bith ran PR times. Klayton Hensell finished in 46th, running a big PR and Tim Cancino finished in 52nd.

Our XC teams ran in Hudson Booster Invitational. Our middle school teams had a PR day! Our girls team was led by Lily Alden - 90th, Lauren VanKampen - 125th, and Sophia Edgell placed 208th with a PR time. In the boys race, the Chargers were led by sixth grader, Parker Mathis who placed 121st and PR’d by almost a minute. Eddie Connelly was closely behind in 125th place, Tim Cancino and Klayton Hensell finished 128th and 150th, respectively, both with PR times.

In the high school race, the girls took runner-up honors! All girls medaled, led by Alli Gautsche who was runner-up in the race! Parker Williams was 10th, Elizabeth Arlt - 16th, Carly Smith - 17th, Kylie Creech - 25th, McKenzie Hawks - 26th, Jassi Kaur - 28th, and Keira Taylor ran the JV race also medaling with an 11th place finish.

The boys took third place, led by three Chargers in the top 10, each taking home medals! Ben Gautsche was second, Cullen Decker sixth, and Noah June ninth. Also placing in the varsity race: Luke McKown - 49th, Brady Anthony - 57th, Jack Dibert - 67th, and Jonas Burdick - 70th.

Earning the Hudson Invite senior award were seniors Elizabeth Arlt, Ben Gautsche, and Jonas Burdick. This award is given to seniors who have ran the Hudson meet for three or more years, been successful in their races, and have a 3.5 GPA or above. Congrats to these great leaders!
