EF Organization Hosting High School Exchange students from around the world is an awesome experience!

I would love to tell you more about the Education First (EF) Exchange Student Program!

Does anyone know someone who would love to host an exchange student from Norway. He's a deep thinker who thinks through everything. He enjoys games and speaks great English. He would love going to a family who loves to hike and being part of the outdoors. He's looking forward to doing outdoor activiites with a family who enjoys hiking and spending time with a teenager.

I have hosted many exchange students over the years and it has been such an awesome expereience. Each one is unique, and I have learned so much. They have all become part of my family and I love each one for the special joj they bring to my life..

Please share this and if we find a family through your actions you will receive a referral fee.

We were able to turn all paperwork into the State. We did this earlier than we ever have. If anyone is interested in hosting a student this fall, there are still students who are in an arrival home. Eventually all these students will need to be in a permanent home. We will lso have some students needing homes because of various issues in their current placement.

If anyone is interested in getting more information on this amazing experience let me know.

I can't believe it, two weeks from today I will be in Spain visiting Alberto and his family. In three weeks I will be in Italy visitin Dni and her family. It's hard to believe that this is actually happening. My goal is to evenutally see where all my exchange children live.

In four weeks I will be welcomig Janessia from Thailand into my house. I am looking forward to another nine months of having a student in my house. This summer has really gone fast.

Would you like to learn more about Germany? Are you and your family interested in learning about different cultures? Do you and your family want to build a lifelong bond with a family from across the globe? If you answer Yes to these questions than you may like to meet Livia from Germany. Her life-long goal has been to come to America. Livia is 16 and wants to come to America in September and spend the school year with you and your family.

The EF staff member who interviewed her indicates that: Livia is a highly motivated and positive girl who makes a very mature appearance for her age. She enjoys family activities, badminton, and playing piano. It is rather easy to keep up a conversation with her as she is interested and versed in many topics. Livia cannot wait to start her American dream, make new friends at her high school, and most of all build a life-long connection to her future family!

Here’s her answers to some of the questions on her application:
What can you tell us about yourself, your personality or your habits that will help us
match you with a host family?

I am a really funny and sometimes also crazy person. I like laughing with others! I think I
am organized. When I’m angry I need time for myself to solve the problem. I like having
siblings!
Why do you want to spend a year abroad?

Since I was a child I’ve loved meeting new people! So I’m excited to make new friends.
But one of the main reasons is that I want to get known from the American culture and
also the American school system. I am looking forward to attend the high school!!
Furthermore I’m pleased of living in another country, in a new city with a ‘new’ family. In
addition I want to improve my English skills.
Her Hobbies are:
• Drawing & Painting
• Listening to music
• Photography
• Reading
• Piano
• Badminton
• Running
• Snowboarding

If you believe she will fit into your family please call me at 218-242-2621 or call EF directly at 1-800-447-4273 and we will get you started on this exciting journey.

What does a typical host family look like?

There is no 'typical' host family! Our families represent the diversity of American culture, and we encourage families of all shapes and sizes to host.
Some families have young or teenage children, while others may be empty-nesters or newlyweds. We've had single parents, same-sex couples,
and grandparents all be wonderful hosts.

All our host families are volunteers, and we've found that those who truly enjoy the experience are caring, open-minded people who want to learn more
about other cultures while sharing their American life with a student from across the globe.

I'm getting really excited, in August my sister and I are going to Spain and Italy to visit two of my former exchange students. It's so exciting that I get to see them and their family in their home setting after having them here for a school year.
