We asked, and you answered.

Last week, Shawnee Community College teamed up with the American Red Cross for our annual Fall Blood Drive.

We appreciate everyone who rolled up their sleeves and gave the gift of life.

Shawnee Community College students and staff joined in the festivities yesterday, and we always enjoy getting out into our communities and connecting with our friends and neighbors!

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that mental health matters and that even the smallest words of encouragement can make a difference.

Earlier this week, members of the Shawnee Community College LGBTQIA+ Diversity Club helped raise awareness about su***de prevention by sharing important information and creating a "Reasons to Stay" display in the Main Campus cafeteria.

Students, faculty, and staff were invited to add sticky notes featuring messages of hope, support, and encouragement for others to see.

Sometimes, a few kind words can mean more than we realize. Thank you to our Diversity Club and everyone who took a moment to remind others they matter and aren't alone.

REAL PEOPLE. REAL IMPACT. 🐍🔬
Once a Saint, always a Saint!

Shawnee Community College instructors Lori Armstrong and Tony Gerard know firsthand the impact an SCC education can have. Both are SCC alumni who have returned to share their knowledge and passion for learning with others.

Recently, they took their classroom on the road, visiting Franklin Elementary School in Metropolis to introduce students to some of SCC's snakes!

The students got an up-close look at these fascinating creatures while learning a little more about the world around them.

It's another example of how our faculty make a difference, not just on our campuses, but throughout the communities we serve.

Real People. Real Impact. That's Shawnee Community College.
