Just returned from interpreting with my colleague and friend, Clarissa Laguardia (Laguardia Translations) in Sacramento on the important topic of providing culturally sensitive services to victims of domestic abuse. We may all be aware of this pervasive problem in our own culture, but we know it happens in all cultures, sadly. Not all conferences we interpret for make us think and evaluate our beliefs about our own culture, and others.
