UPDATE: Our 200 Free Relay team will compete at NCS this Friday May 3rd in Concord! Congratulations and good luck! 🎉💜💛

Congratulations to our swimmers Austin, Bennett, Forrest, Nick and Tristan who earned NCS consideration times at this weekend’s NBLs for the Medley relay, the 200 Free relay and the 100 Fly 💪🏽💜💛 We’ll find out Monday night if they’ll get to swim at NCS on May 3rd. Last night our Wildcat swimmers hosted Santa Rosa High School for their first League meet of the season. It was a chilly event but that didn’t stop our 30 strong competitors from giving it their all.

Meet Deets:

JV - UHS 85; SRHS 0
GV – UHS 79; SRHS 90
BV – UHS 115; SRHS 55

Meet Notes –

JV - SRHS did not have a JV team this year. Last year our JV’s got clobbered 24 – 58 so that’s a huge improvement! These first time and new swimmers have improved so much since practice started in February. They are getting stronger and faster every day!

GV – Our girls definitely made an impact in the pool with five 1st, seven 2nd, three 3rd and five 4th place finishes. This is a HUGE improvement over last year where they only earned 49 points. There were several personal bests which is a great start for league season!

BV – Our boys had great day in the pool with ten out of eleven 1st place finishes! The also earned eight 2nd, four 3rd and two 4th place finishes. Our boys A relay teams for the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle earned NCS consideration times.

Our next and last home meet is April 3rd. This will also be senior night.

Our Wildcat Varsity Swim Team has been busy these past few days. Friday was the NBL Championship preliminaries and yesterday was the NBL Championship finals held at Santa Rosa Junior College. Our Girls Varsity placed 7th out of 10 teams over all. Our Boy Varsity placed 4th out of nine teams over all.

All our athletes competed in the preliminaries on Friday. The top 16 in each individual event move on the finals. Finals events is where the teams earn their points. Top eight individuals are the A cut, next eight are the B cut. All relays were held on Saturday, that’s where the big points come in. Each school was only allowed to enter one A cut relay team. Now for the meet deets:

GV - 7th out of 10. 139 points. Our team is much smaller than most of the teams, with only 12 girls competing on Friday we had six athletes make it to the individual finals. Of those six swimmers there were four A cut and six B cut finalists! Our girls placed 6th in the 200 Medley Relay, 6th in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 9th in the 400 Freestyle Relay. It was a strong finish to very challenging season.

BV - 4th out of 9. 209 points. With only six Varsity Boys competing it’s an amazing feat to get 4th place! All six boys made the finals cut. They had seven A cuts and 2 B cut. The boys got 3rd place in the 200 Medley Relay, 2nd place in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 2nd place in the 400 Freestyle Relay. All three boys relay times are consideration times for NCS! Not too shabby for our small but mighty team! Stay tuned to see if they make the cut🤞🏻
