The first day of school is quickly approaching! As summer comes to a close, we are eagerly awaiting what this new school year has for us and looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces around campus 😀

On Monday, August 24 we will be hosting Meet Your Teacher Night, which gives all of our students and families an opportunity to come, well, meet your teacher! It's also a great opportunity to see where your classrooms, locker, and everything else is located, especially if you are joining us for the first time this year, and get answers to any other last minute questions before the first day of school. We hope to see you all here!

We are excited to introduce our new First Grade teacher, Mr. Samuel Smeal!

Mr. Smeal received his Bachelor’s of Education degree and teaching certification from Penn State University. Since then, he has enjoyed teaching in many settings, including Tyrone Elementary School.

In 2015, Samuel went to China as a short-term missionary, where he taught kindergarten at Xi’an International School.

In 2020, Mr. Smeal had the privilege of helping to start and administrate a Christian school in the small town of Morrisdale. He is excited to return to full-time teaching as he joins the team at Tyrone Christian Academy, and he looks forward to seeing how God continues to provide for and bless this vital mission of educating the next generation in the Tyrone community!

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Cassie Johannides, who will join us this year as our Third grade teacher!

Cassie graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Special Education. She currently works with Pre-K through sixth grade students as a lead teacher at The Academy Preschool and Early Education Center.

An Altoona native, she attends church at Community Worship Center, and in her free time she enjoys fishing, running, and playing pickleball. Cassie said she has known since first grade that she wanted to be a teacher and we look forward to her joining our growing team and bringing her passion and excitement to our third grade classroom!
