Friends and family,

This weekend I, The Reading Journey, had a booth at the Tyler Public Library’s Summer Camp Fair. It was an eye-opening event for me. After visiting with every family who came through, I learned that students who love reading, read easily. Students who don’t love reading, struggle with it. Nothing has changed over time in that theory. Students MUST learn to read better to love reading and THEY CAN.
So I will continue on. There is work to be done and it CAN happen for parents who seek individual, organized, uplifting lessons. It takes work and commitment but the facts are the same. Many students needed individualized instruction for success. Don’t settle for “He just doesn’t like to read.”

After 10 years at our HWY 155 property we have relocated to Kinsey Dr. across from Kinsey Pharmacy. We are alive and well and thrilled to be here and so happy to help!!!!

Hats off to the children's librarian in Tyler. I have a 7th grade student who has read thousands of minutes in his summer challenge. He is so honest and turns his timer off when we discuss something. You included minutes "read to" and that motivated family reading time! Again, hats off to you!

Sometimes Bailey (2 1/2 yrs) visits The Reading Journey and quietly mimics what my students are doing. You can catch her getting fat books to read. As students' motivation grows, so does hers! She never interrupts! Proud grandma and teacher. 😀

Very thrilled to share incredible student discovery... Olivia discovered all on her own that she can focus better, learn better, and feel happy and excited about learning when she is actively rolling around this ball with her bare feet! 2017 Summer Reading/Math Camp signup is now open to all students, all ages. These are academically challenging but in a FUN setting! We're very excited to get to have fun in pre-reading activities with my grandchild Bailey Grace!
