This sweet student began struggling with math in fourth grade and slowly started believing she just wasn’t good at it. Now, she’s earning 93s, but more importantly, she’s proud of herself! 💜

She has been working with Ashley Ramsey, who joined our team this summer and has been an absolute rockstar from day one. Ashley consistently goes above and beyond to help her students understand the material, build confidence, and recognize just how capable they truly are.

We couldn’t be happier for this incredible young lady! Many thanks to her parents for trusting us to support her and to Ashley for pouring so much care into everything she does. This is what Progress Over Perfection is all about! 🎉

I am SO excited to finally introduce Jen Zimmerman to the POP Tutoring team! 💜💡

This one has actually been over a year in the making! I first got to know Jen when she served as a reference for another amazing tutor. We ended up talking in depth, and I remember getting off the phone thinking, “Okay...I want HER too!” 😂 I knew right away that she was exactly the kind of educator and human I wanted representing POP.

Jen is brilliant, incredibly kind-hearted, and the type of person who is going to give her ALL to whatever she does.

I may have had to wait more than a year to get her, but she was absolutely worth the wait. 😂💜 Welcome to the POP family, Jen! We are SO lucky to have you!

This is one of those good problems to have...our students keep coming, and I need more amazing math people to support them! 💜

If Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, PreCal, Calculus, and/or Stats are your thing, I would LOVE to talk to you. We have students who need more than someone who knows the math; they need someone who can break it down, build their confidence, and help them get to that “WAIT... I GET IT!” moment. 🙌

We are SO excited to officially welcome Mrs. Kim Hardy to the POP Tutoring team! 💜💡

This one is extra fun for me because I actually met Kim while we were volunteering together to prepare for Love Thy City. I enjoyed every second of working alongside her, and it didn't take long to see what kind of person she is. She's warm, genuine, relational, and has a heart for people, especially kids who need someone in their corner.

BUT... no matter how much I personally love someone, I still do my due diligence before adding anyone to this team. 😂 References are always checked!

One of Kim's references told me I'd be CRAZY not to hire her. He had been one of her students years ago and told me that he is the professional he is today in large part because of the difference she made in his life. He said he wouldn't be the person he is without her.

Ummm... SOLD. ❤️

Kim especially loves working with students who struggle. She's patient, encouraging, and genuinely loves those "light bulb" moments when a student finally realizes, "WAIT... I CAN DO THIS!"

She'll be working with our students in English/Language Arts, reading, and writing from upper elementary through high school, and I could not be happier to have her representing POP Tutoring.

We are so excited to share that POP Tutoring is an approved Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) vendor! 🎉

For families participating in TEFA, funds can be used for private tutoring with approved providers. For the 2026–27 school year, participating private-school students may receive $10,474, while homeschool students may receive up to $2,000. Eligible private-school students with an IEP on file may qualify for additional funding.

That means TEFA can help families access the individualized academic support their children need, and we would LOVE to be part of your child’s team! 💜

✨ Please help us welcome Christian Empie to the POP Tutoring team! ✨

Christian brings valuable experience from UT Tyler’s Center for Writing Excellence, where he guided students through coursework, evaluated their writing, and met with them individually to provide support and feedback.

He is especially passionate about TSI/ACT/SAT Reading and Writing preparation, English grammar, and helping students develop their own authentic voices. Christian believes that strong reading and writing skills benefit students in every area of life, and he enjoys tailoring instruction to each student’s interests.

Christian was described by his references as highly intelligent, creative, focused, endlessly curious, collaborative, and personable, and we see all of those qualities in him already! We are incredibly grateful to have Christian join our team and cannot wait to see the impact he makes on our students! 💙📚

🎉 We have some EXCITING news! POP Tutoring is officially a PASS Approved Service Provider!

Through the Parent Access to Supplemental Supports program, eligible families can receive a $400 grant for reading tutoring!

Your student may qualify if they:

📚 Are enrolled in a Texas public school
📚 Scored “Did Not Meet Grade Level” in reading on the third-grade state assessment

Applications are now open at pass.tea.texas.gov.

💜 Please help us welcome Ms. Jessetta Jones to the POP Tutoring team!

This one makes me especially happy because I actually met Jessetta at an ARD meeting and was so impressed with her that afterward, I practically raced down the hallway to catch her and ask if she'd ever considered tutoring with us. 😂

She KNOWS her students. She knows their strengths, their struggles, what motivates them, and what they need to be successful. More than anything, she has an incredible heart for kids, and that was obvious within minutes of meeting her.

Those are exactly the kind of educators I want representing POP Tutoring, and I'm SO excited she said yes! 💜

Please help me give a big POP Tutoring welcome to Caroline Istre! 💜💡

Every once in a while, you meet someone and immediately think, Yep. You're my kind of person. That was Caroline for me.

She is one of the most genuine humans you'll ever meet, and her love for students comes through almost immediately. She understands that especially with older students, you have to build the relationship first. When students know you care about them and feel comfortable with you, everything else gets easier.

Then there's her love of SCIENCE. 🧪🔬🌎 She absolutely lights up talking about it! I especially love that she doesn't want students to simply memorize information; she wants them to experience it, make connections, ask questions, and understand how science actually works in the real world.

Caroline is incredibly flexible and willing to meet students where they are, whether that's a homeschool student learning during the day or a student needing support after school.

We're so excited to have her on our team and even more excited for our students who get to learn from her!
