October is American Archives month! This year, we’re celebrating by adding new digitized content to Scholar Works weekly. Expect new materials uploaded to the collections listed below each week in October!

Another watercolor from the Archives - this one is part of the Bill Ratliff collection.

We have been unable to identify the artist so far, but what we can discern is the date, '94, and "Lubbock, Texas" written after the signature at the very bottom.

For national watercolor month, we'll be showcasing some of the beautiful watercolor paintings in our collection!

Here's a snapshot from our photo collection, dated somewhere between 1976 - 1978.

For National Mascot day, we wanted to shine the spotlight onto the original mascot of UT Tyler - Pat! 🦅

Pat was the winning design of the mascot contest held by UT Tyler in 1980, created by staff member Winston Green who had contributed multiple designs already for the University. Though Pat has been retired for many years now, the original mask spends his time hanging out in the rolling stacks of the archive.

I really want to know what's on that calendar page...

Taken exactly 13 years ago on June 13th, 2011, during the 40th anniversary party for former UT Tyler faculty and staff.

Today is National Smile Day! Here's a couple of winning smiles from our collection, taken during commencement in the Spring of '88.

We're a bit late for national nurses' week, but it's never too late to appreciate what they do!

Here we have a UT Tyler Nursing School student from the mid 1980's, checking a patient's ears.

Hello there - did you know that we have a lightsaber in our collection? Two, actually!

It is part of the Bill Ratliff collection - he was given the moniker "Obi-Wan Kenobi" by his colleagues, and we got a few of his lightsabers when we acquired his collection.
