What a Night for An Orange Nation! 🧡

Our 2026 An Orange Occasion was a tremendous success, with 41 Oklahoma State alumni, friends, and supporters coming together for an evening of fellowship, Cowboy pride, and celebration.

One of the highlights of the evening was recognizing our incoming East Texas freshmen. Thanks to the generosity of our alumni, what began as two $500 scholarships turned into something even more special. After a generous alumnus donated an additional $1,000, we were able to award all four incoming freshmen in attendance with $500 scholarships. Investing in the next generation of Cowboys is what our chapter is all about, and we couldn’t be more excited for these students as they begin their journey at Oklahoma State.

A special thank you goes to Barry Hinson, our marquee speaker, for sharing his insight, enthusiasm, and passion for Oklahoma State University. His remarks were a true highlight of the evening.

We were also honored to recognize Steve and Marilee Braley for their many years of unwavering support and dedication to Oklahoma State University. Their generosity, leadership, and commitment have made a lasting impact on countless students and alumni, and it was a privilege to celebrate their contributions.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and supported this event. Your enthusiasm and commitment continue to make the East Texas Chapter one of the strongest OSU alumni communities anywhere.

A Letter from the President

Dear Oklahoma State Alumni and Friends,

On behalf of the Oklahoma State University East Texas Alumni Chapter, I would like to personally invite you to join us for An Orange Occasion on Tuesday, July 28, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Cascades Country Club in Tyler.

This year’s event promises to be one of our best yet as we welcome Barry Hinson, Associate Athletic Director and Executive Director of NIL Operations, as our featured guest speaker. Barry’s passion for Oklahoma State and his unique perspective on the future of Cowboy athletics make this an evening you won’t want to miss.

I’m especially excited because this year marks a significant milestone for our chapter.

For the first time in the history of the Oklahoma State East Texas Alumni Chapter, we will be awarding scholarships to incoming Oklahoma State freshmen from East Texas.

This achievement is a reflection of what our chapter stands for—supporting future Cowboys and Cowgirls and giving back to the university that has given so much to all of us. We have each been fortunate to experience the opportunities, friendships, and lifelong connections that Oklahoma State provides. Now, through these scholarships, we have the opportunity to help the next generation begin that same journey.

In addition to an outstanding program, guests will enjoy a wonderful dinner featuring carved prime rib, cocktail shrimp, Green Beans Amandine, and other delicious accompaniments, making for a memorable evening of fellowship with fellow alumni and friends.

Your attendance does more than make for a great evening—it strengthens our chapter, supports future scholarship opportunities, and demonstrates the enduring spirit of the Cowboy family here in East Texas.

Whether you’ve attended every Orange Occasion or this will be your first, I sincerely hope you’ll join us as we celebrate Oklahoma State, recognize our newest students, and enjoy an evening together with fellow Cowboys.

East Texas Chapter July Meeting

An Orange Occasion in East Texas 2026
Tuesday, July 28 | 6-8 p.m.

Cascades Country Club

Doors will open and food will be available beginning at 6 p.m. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Our special guest this year will be Barry Hinson, associate athletic director and director of NIL for OSU Athletics.

We will also be recognizing local students who will be incoming OSU freshmen this fall! Freshmen in attendance will receive a Bound for Stilly yard sign from the chapter and will be entered to win one of two $500 scholarships (must be in attendance to win).

Tickets are available for $35. Incoming OSU freshmen are free.

All tickets include heavy hors d'oeurves and nonalcoholic beverages. A cash bar will be available.

Game day attire is requested - don't forget to wear orange!
