NASA is nearing final preparations to send people back to the moon, as early as next week. If you are interested in learning more about the Artemis program, come check out our show “Forward! To The Moon” playing daily at 3pm.

NASA is targeting Feb. 2 to begin fueling the Artemis II rocket as a part of the wet dress rehearsal test. With this change, the first potential opportunity to launch our crewed lunar mission is no earlier than Feb. 8.

Over the past several days, engineers have been closely monitoring conditions as cold weather and winds move through Florida. Managers have assessed hardware capabilities against the projected forecast given the rare arctic outbreak affecting the state and decided to change the timeline. Teams and preparations at the launch pad remain ready for the wet dress rehearsal.

While NASA will wait to set a launch date until teams have reviewed the outcome of the wet dress rehearsal, Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, are no longer viable opportunities. Any additional delays would result in a day for day change. https://go.nasa.gov/4kcbyho
