The School of Education faculty and students are dedicated to addressing the pressing issues and problems in today's education system such as closing the achievement gap, increasing literacy levels, meeting the unique needs of diverse abilities and language learners, teaching and learning in a 21st century global and technology-rich society, and working to increase the number of teachers in high need areas such as math and science. We have high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs designed to enhance the teaching and learning that occurs in diverse learning environments. The School of Education is dedicated to providing relevant and rigorous educator preparation. The School of Education educator preparation programs have a rating of Accredited, the highest rating, from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC). The university of Texas at Tyler is accredited by the Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS).
