Leader in Me is our daily blueprint at UT Tyler University Academy, driving leadership development for both our students and staff. Leader in Me coaches each of us to build a culture of responsibility, respect, and continuous growth. Here is how that looks in action:
Habit One is Be Proactive. A practice in being proactive is to focus on your Circle of Influence. The Circle of Influence also encompasses what you CAN do, not what you can't do. How often have you said, "that's not in my circle of influence, so there's nothing I can do...."? At University Academy, we are teaching staff and students to change that language- something may not be entirely in your circle of influence, but your actions still matter. Listening with purpose, expressing curiosity, or showing genuine care can indirectly influence situations with your integrity, principles, and positivity.
