In remembrance of the lives lost and the heroes who served on September 11, 2001, we invite you to join us as we honor this important day together. Our Eagles are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue tomorrow, September 11, as a simple way to show our remembrance, unity, and appreciation for the courage and service of so many.

Our PE program started a “Character in Motion” initiative this year! Each month, students focus on a different character word, what it means, and how they can put it into practice in their daily lives.

The word for August was RESPECT. During warm-up every class spelled the word while stretching and discussed what respect looks like at school, in PE, and in everyday life.

When students were seen showing respect towards others, they earned the opportunity to sign the RESPECT poster in the gym. The grade level with the most signatures at the end of the month won a special reward!

Fifth grade won the month of August by consistently showing RESPECT in PE and throughout the entire school.

They proudly received Owens Eagles RESPECT bracelets as a reminder to continue showing strong character wherever they go!
