Texas College is proud to welcome Bishop Denise Anders-Modest as the new Chair of the Texas College Board of Trustees!

As the first woman to serve as Board Chair, Bishop Anders-Modest's appointment marks a significant milestone in the College's 132-year history. Her leadership comes alongside another historic first, as Dr. SherRhonda R. Gibbs serves as the College's first female President.

Bishop Anders-Modest also serves as the Presiding Bishop of the 8th Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church, the denomination whose ministers founded Texas College in 1894. Her appointment reflects our enduring commitment to faith, leadership, and excellence while strengthening the historic bond between Texas College and the CME Church.
