Nature teaches so gently, so gradually, so persistently, that he is never overdone, but goes on gathering little stores of knowledge about whatever comes before him.”-Charlotte Mason
Our book study just read CM’s Home Education part two on “out-of-door life for the children.” It’s so good and chock full of wisdom. But before we move on to part 3 remember…
“Never be within doors when you can rightly be without.” -CM

“As a stream can rise no higher than its source, so it is probable that no educational effort can rise above the whole scheme of thought which gives it birth.” -Charlotte Mason
Charlotte Mason believed that educational practice flows from educational philosophy which is why we continue to read and study her works. This summer we are diving into “Home Education” to deepen our understanding of the ideas that shape the way we teach and to cultivate a living education for our children. May our own continued education aid us in educating with greater purpose, confidence, and consistency.
This year our high school students explored the world of biology! What fun learning experiences! For the next school year (2026-27) our science will good ole chemistry!
“This is what we wish to do for children in teaching them to draw––to cause the eye to rest, not unconsciously, but consciously, on some object of beauty which will leave in their minds an image of delight for all their lives to come.” -Charlotte Mason, Home Education)

“A love of Nature, implanted so early that it will seem to them hereafter to have been born in them, will enrich their lives with pure interests, absorbing pursuits, health, and good humour” (Charlotte Mason, Home Education).
