We’re starting something BIG this week with a new social media series! Welcome to our first , where we’ll be featuring our active president, Angel Perez. Angel is a junior mechanical engineering major from Riverside, California. He plans to graduate from the University of Texas at Tyler in the Spring of 2023.
Angel has taken on the prodigious task of being our organization’s first ever president and has done an amazing job at stepping into that role. When asked why he decided to be a part of the process of creating and building up a new organization like BIG Club, Angel responded saying that “[he’s] always been fascinated by entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as the assembling of people pursuing a common goal.” Angel states that his favorite part of being in BIG Club is “being pushed out of [his] comfort zone to grow and learn in a new field.” We believe that Angel is well equipped to lead our organization into a successful future and to help us grow and become an influence in the East Texas community!
Outside of school, some of Angel’s hobbies include 3D printing, exercising, reading books, and cooking. Angel has always taken an interest in playing sports, specifically soccer, and has done so since he was eight years old. In that time, he has successfully never broken a bone! Help us celebrate and thank Angel for all he’s done for BIG Club!

Mr. Vanderbilt discussed the importance of new startups and existing small businesses using tools provided through their local and . Chuck walked the students through Zoom Prospector, ETCOG's new tool for Economic Development. What an incredible program. Students were able to see how to use Zoom Prospector to get demographic information, view commercial buildings for sale, and other valuable information.
Thank you again to and Chuck Vanderbilt.

A business must match the products and services with the surrounding population to be successful, but how do you know how to select the best location? Mr. Vanderbilt will provide the answers to where to locate a business that fits the customer base! Join us this Monday, February 21st for this exciting topic of conversation, you DO NOT want to miss this!
