8th Grade Graduation Speech
“Step Forward in Faith and Leave a Legacy”
Hello students, families, teachers, staff, and friends.
Today is a day of celebration. We gather to recognize a milestone in the lives of these amazing 8th-grade students.
Years of learning, growing, laughing, serving, and overcoming challenges have brought you to this moment. As you walk across this stage, you are not simply completing middle school—you are stepping into a new season of life.
Graduates, before you leave, I want you to recognize something important: each one of you has left a legacy here at Lake Arrowhead Christian School.
Through your friendships, your character, your kindness, your laughter, and your faith, you have helped shape this school. The hallways, classrooms, playgrounds, and chapel services have all been impacted by your presence.
But now, God is calling you to begin a new legacy.
This year is especially meaningful because just as you are moving into a new chapter, LACS is moving into a new chapter as well.
While change can be difficult, it is also exciting because it reminds us that God is always at work. Just as you are stepping into high school, LACS is stepping into a new season of ministry and influence.
The Bible reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
God already knows what lies ahead for each one of you. He knows the doors He will open and the doors He will close.
Sometimes we celebrate the open doors, and sometimes we struggle to understand the closed ones. Yet both are evidence of God’s loving guidance.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
As you move into high school, there will be moments when life does not go according to your plans. Remember that God is still in control.
When a door closes, trust Him. When a new opportunity appears, trust Him. When you are uncertain about the future, trust Him.
Another powerful reminder comes from 1 Timothy 4:12:
*“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in
Closing Challenge
Graduates, as you leave LACS, my challenge to each of you is this:
Love God wholeheartedly. Follow Jesus courageously. Serve others selflessly. Leave every place better than you found it.
You have already left a legacy here at LACS, but your story is just beginning.
As you step into high school, choose to be known not only for what you accomplish, but for who you become.
Be a person of integrity when no one is watching. Be a person of faith when others are afraid. Be a person of kindness when the world seems unkind.
Remember that your future is not determined by your circumstances but by the God who walks with you through them.
He will open doors that no one can shut and close doors that no one can open. Trust Him with your life, your dreams, and your future.
Class of 2026, go forward with confidence. God has great things ahead for you. Continue building a legacy that points others to Christ.
Congratulations, graduates. We are proud of you, we believe in you, and most importantly, God has a purpose for each and every one of you.
