🔆STAFF SPOTLIGHT 🔆

We're headed to kindergarten! Meet Miss Elizabeth Taylor! Miss Taylor has 15 years of experience under her belt and has spent 14 of those in our Kindergarten classroom! Miss Taylor says that the best part of teaching is seeing the exact second when a hard idea finally makes sense to a student. Furthermore, the strong community feel, kindness of the students, and the supportive teamwork shared among the staff are what set St. Edward's apart.

Miss Taylor's favorite hobbies include diamond art, spending time with family, traveling, canning, and watching Hallmark movies! Fun fact, Miss Taylor knows ASL, and if she wasn't a teacher, she would be a foster parent and work on a farm!

We are so happy to have Miss Taylor teaching our little saints! 💙

🔆 STAFF SPOTLIGHT🔆

Today we'd like to introduce you to our Head of Tiny Human Relations (a.k.a Pre-K 4 Teacher), Mrs. Camelle Gorsline! Mrs. Camelle comes to us with 6 years of education experience, and we've had the pleasure of having her for the past 5 years! Mrs. Camelle's favorite thing about St. Edward's is that we put Jesus first in everything we do. She says, "Our school is blessed with wonderful families who value faith, education, kindness, and love. We truly have a special community where parents, teachers, staff, and students support one another and work together."

Aside from keeping those littles in line, Mrs. Camelle loves to spend time with her family, enjoy the outdoors, travel, go kayaking, hunting, camping, and she loves to explore new places. "Family is very important to me, and I'm always thankful for the time we get to spend together. I love laughing and making memories that will last a lifetime," she added.

Mrs. Camelle says that her dream vacation would be to sail around the world! She says she would love to live on a sailboat for awhile, travel from country to country, experience different cultures, and see as much of the world as possible! Mrs. Camelle's favorite quote describes her perfectly... "Life is short. Work hard, love big, be happy, and don't be afraid to change your plans."

🔆 STAFF SPOTLIGHT 🔆

Next up we have our Pre-K 3 Teacher, Mrs. Amber Dowton! Mrs. Amber has been teaching for 2 years in our preschool program and we just love her! We asked Mrs. Amber what her favorite part of teaching at St. Edward's is and she said, "I love teaching preschool! This is such a fun age because they are still so curious, excited, and eager to learn new things. Watching them grow, learn, and discover the world around them is the best part of teaching and is so rewarding!

Teaching at St. Edward’s makes the job even more special. It is such a family- and faith-oriented community, and it truly feels like home rather than a job. I feel so lucky to be part of a place where I can teach, build relationships with my students and their families, and be part of such a wonderful community."

Outside of school, Mrs. Amber has fun with following her kids around in sports, camping, and hanging out with her family!

Fun Fact: If Mrs. Amber wasn't a teacher, her dream would be to own a nonprofit animal sanctuary. She says , "I have always had a huge love for dogs and animals. I especially have a soft spot for strays and animals that have been abandoned or neglected. I would love to rescue dogs and give them a safe loving place to call home."

We love having Mrs. Amber at St. Ed's! 💙

🔆STAFF SPOTLIGHT 🔆

Introducing our amazing business manager, Mrs. Juana Nava! Mrs. Nava has spent 10 years working within the Diocese of Boise, and this is her 4th year with St. Edward's Catholic School! Mrs. Nava loves working at St. Edward's because of "the faith filled environment, the close knit community, and the opportunity to meet each child where they are at, not only academically but also spiritually."

Aside from balancing the books, Mrs. Nava spends her time with her family, cheers her kids on at soccer games, and, when she can, she also loves to go on nature walks! Mrs. Nava would like to share her favorite quote, from St. Therese of Lisieux: "Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love."

Mrs. Nava lives up to that quote for sure! We love her! Mrs. Nava, thank you for being here! 💙

Meet our NEW Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Sarah Coats!

Mrs. Coats comes to us with 2 years of education experience, and has absolutely changed our world at St. Ed's! Her favorite thing about our school is that everyone makes you feel like family.

Aside from manning the front office, Mrs. Coats loves to spend time with her family, go camping, do yoga, walk her dog Booker, or sneak in a few quiet moments with a good book. Her dream vacation would be to ride in a water gondola in Venice, Italy!

🔆 STAFF SPOTLIGHT 🔆

This fall, we will be highlighting our wonderful staff so that our community can get to know us! First up, our fearless leader!

Meet Angela Hild, the principal of St. Edward's Catholic School! Mrs. Hild has been working in education for 27 years. 2026 marks her 10th year at St. Edward's! She says, "I love being around the kids. They make me laugh. St. Edward's has allowed me to grow in my faith both in knowledge and action. I love that I get to share my faith with my peers and our students."

Outside of school, Mrs. Hild likes to read, bake, hang out with her friends, and go camping!

Mrs. Hild also wanted to share this story with a bit of wisdom: "When my Grandpa Tom turned 80, we went to the Oregon Coast to celebrate his birthday with my entire extended family. I asked him if he would do anything differently and he said 'I would have taken better care of my teeth!' (He hated his dentures.) He was surrounded by my grandma, his eight kids, their spouses, 26 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren at the time. I could see that he was truly at peace with the life he lived and it made me want to do the same. Live life with honesty, sincerity, and true faith."

Dear Jesus,

Our hearts are heavy and our minds reeling by the tragedy that has touched our community. We may never understand such acts of violence, but we trust that You remain with the brokenhearted.

Welcome those who lost their lives into Your loving embrace and eternal light. Bring healing to the victims, families, witnesses, first responders, and all others affected by these events.

Lord, soften our hearts and let us continue to choose love over hate, peace over fear, and mercy over anger. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, surround us with Your peace and remind everyone that You are with us through it all.

These things we pray, O Lord,
Amen. 💙
