We are a federally funded preschool and family support program for low income families. Since 1965, Head Start has been preparing children for kindergarten and helping them develop skills to become life-long learners.
The program serves children in low-income families and children with diagnosed disabilities in the areas of school readiness, nutrition, medical, social and other services through class time and home visits. College of Southern Idaho Head Start program serves 587 children in nine counties from September-May. Head Start Centers are located in Burley, Hansen, Hailey, Shoshone, Rupert, Jerome, Wendel

If you're the parent of an infant, you're likely to feel the stress of parenthood. Less sleep, lack of individual time, infant crying, etc. If you're caring for a baby and start to feel frustrated, take some time to calm down. Put the baby in a safe place, like a crib, and walk away. Go back and check on the baby often, but DO NOT pick up the baby if you're feeling frustrated or angry.
Call a friend or family member. Call a local organization that is dedicated to families. Call for help. There's no shame in admitting that raising a child is difficult. It takes courage to ask for help. Together, we can .
