GFB Middle and high school STEM students in Michelle Foligno’s STEM classes took on a Cup Stacking Team Building Challenge designed to put communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills to the test!

Working together, students had to develop a strategy, communicate effectively, adapt when things didn’t go as planned, and rely on one another to complete the challenge. The goal wasn’t just to stack cups, it was to learn how successful teams persevere.

A fun way to kick off STEM while building the skills that engineers, designers, and leaders use every day!

We are excited to share that two of our 8th graders, Zahniya and Brady, have been selected to participate in the 2026–2027 Junior Leadership Orange (JLO) Program! 🎉

JLO is a highly selective leadership development program that brings together emerging young leaders from across Orange County. Throughout the program, students will gain valuable knowledge, experiences, and skills to help them make a positive impact in their schools and communities.

We are so proud to have Zahniya and Brady represent Tuxedo UFSD and look forward to seeing all they accomplish throughout this exciting year of learning, leadership, and connection!

Mrs. Rota’s 4th grade class started the school year by reading Alma & the Worry Stone and talking about some of the worries that can come with a new school year. Together, the class came up with a list of things that might be on their minds. From making new friends and changing friend groups to wondering if the work will be too difficult, having too much work, meeting a new teacher, or worrying when things don’t go as planned.

Students then created their very own worry stones to keep as a reminder that it’s okay to have worries and that they can work through them together. 🪨💙

What a wonderful way for our Tornadoes to begin the year by sharing, connecting, and turning worries into confidence! 🌪️✨

Happy first day to all of our Tuxedo Tornadoes! We were so excited to welcome our students back through the doors and kick off a brand-new school year together. 📚✨

From big smiles to new beginnings, it was a wonderful day filled with excitement, learning, and lots of memories already being made.

With school starting tomorrow, here are a few highlights from last week’s Superintendent’s Conference Day!
We proudly celebrated our interim principals—Michael Cogliano at GGM Elementary and Barbara Quinn at GFB Middle & High School—and we are so grateful for their leadership and commitment to our schools.

Superintendent Jeffrey White kicked off the event with inspiring opening remarks, setting a strong tone focused on learning, growth, and continued excellence. Throughout the day, our staff deepened their practice with RULER to strengthen our commitment to supporting the social and emotional well-being of our students and community.

Meanwhile, GGM staff focused on enhancing strong literacy practices, and GFB explored New York State’s Portrait of a Graduate as part of their new NY Inspires program. It was a day filled with learning, collaboration, and shared purpose, and we are proud of our staff’s dedication to creating meaningful learning experiences for every student. We can't wait to welcome everyone back tomorrow! 💙📚🎒

Mrs. Rush welcomed her new Pre-K students to a special picnic at GGM! Our newest learners had the chance to meet their teacher, spend time together, and enjoy a story as they began their exciting new adventure at George Grant Mason. 📖💙

Mrs. Sayles welcomed her new kindergarteners and their families to a special Boohoo Breakfast! It was a wonderful opportunity for our newest students to meet their teacher and friends, and start building excitement for the school year ahead.
