As teacher appreciation week comes to a close I would like to extend another “Thank You” to the Tuxedo UFSD teachers. Thank you for your late nights, early mornings and the extra patience you give our children and us parents.
This election year I have a particularly heartfelt “Thank You” for your endorsement.
You are the eyes and ears of our children, our boots on the ground. No one knows better what is working and what is not. Your input is invaluable.
Thank you for all your hard work, have a great weekend.

"A penny saved is a penny earned" - my son via Ms. Rocklin
One of the most refreshing ideas I've recently seen comes to us via Mrs. Rocklin. She uses blocks daily as rewards for good behavior she removes one when she receives the opposite. At the end of the week they are converted into "Dillon Dollars" and used to purchase something at the class store. The class allowance system is another excellent example of how one teachers creativity breaks down economics and makes it palatable for elementary students to wrap their heads around.

Thank you Ms. Rocklin and great work

“Daddy that’s a want” - My daughter, currently in GGM with Mrs. Rush
My daughter clearly differentiated between “need” and “want” last month, compliments of her curriculum. This is personal finance and economics 101 to a young child. By having children conscious of the difference, we can begin to have a dialog about marketing and who is being marketed to. By finding fun ways to teach and reinforce good behaviors (ie delayed gratification - “patient person”) we can fortify the pathway toward a successful financial future. Our Teachers are masters at their craft. Allowing them to flex their creative muscles can more regularly bring our kids in contact with the age appropriate behaviors and positive reinforcements we are trying to instill. The only out of pocket cost….. Collaboration. Thank you Mrs. Rush
Happy teachers appreciation week to all our wonderful staff at Tuxedo UFSD

“I never dreamed of success; I worked for it” Ester Lauder

The entrepreneurial mindset is all around us. Our community is full of parents, neighbors, and grandparents that have successfully operated their own business or creative side gig. Children aspire to what they see. By giving them access to our community members through small business showcases, women in business symposiums, and a variety of internships, children will gain further understanding of how all those working parts fit together. Once they have this understanding they can implement it any way they want and apply it wherever in this world their dreams have taken them.

“If you wait until you see the robin, spring will be over” - Warren Buffett
One of my favorite quotes of being contrarian and nothing has more application today. We have waited but the time has come for “Tuxedo To Mean Business”. Eight years ago, based on consultants studying our academics offering Tuxedo UFSD was advised to start a financial literacy program. The need for the program is more urgent now than ever.
If elected I plan to bring a comprehensive Business & Financial Literacy Program to our district.
I want to ensure our students have the full basket of skills necessary to build successful lives whether they are electricians or electrical engineers. Our small school has a huge amount of marketability. Bringing innovative curriculum like Financial Literacy to our school sets us apart from the rest and ensures we are investing in our students' future success now.

“A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money." - Everett Dirksen
This quote was used regularly around my house to illustrate how small financial indiscretions can compound.
As a community we have a fiduciary responsibility to our aging parents, friends, and neighbors to be proper stewards of their hard earned tax dollars.
A vote for me will ensure that as Tuxedo UFSD fosters innovation, it is done with financial responsibility.

Hi Folks,
I, Will (Billy) Clarke, am running in this year's BOE election on May 16th.
I am a lifelong resident of Tuxedo and a GFB graduate.
I earned a BA from Binghamton in Political Science. After college I joined the FDNY, where I have served for 27 years, climbing the ranks to Captain and training officer.

I’m running in the hopes of having a 3rd parent in our district on our School board, of 7.
As a parent of three children (currently in GGM) I feel it’s important that parents' needs and concerns are being heard, advocated for and fairly represented on our board.

As a community member I have a vested interest in ensuring our school budget is fiscally responsible and mindful of our taxpayers pockets.

I’m eager to help our school district reach its full potential while empowering our students to do the same.

“Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” (Warren Buffett) - HAPPY EARTH DAY
