Today is a very special first day. ❤️

After a career filled with teaching, nurturing, exploring, encouraging, and loving countless children, Mrs. Christenson is beginning her final school year before retirement.

Her last first day of school. 🥹

We are so incredibly grateful that we get to share this final chapter with her. Her love of children, nature, and learning has left its mark on so many little hearts—and on all of us lucky enough to teach alongside her.

There will be plenty of time for goodbyes later. For today, we’re simply celebrating one more first day, one more classroom full of possibilities, and one very special teacher beginning a year we know we’ll always remember. 🌿❤️

What started as a group of children building a pool next to the mud kitchen quickly evolved into a rich learning experience. Once the pool began filling with water, they noticed it was overflowing and flooding the sidewalk. This sparked an important question: How can we keep the water where we want it?

Over the next few hours, the children engaged in construction, negotiation, conversation, problem-solving, and critical thinking as they worked together to design and build walls to contain the water. They tested ideas, made adjustments, and collaborated to solve a real-world problem.

Now we wait and wonder… Will the walls hold? Where will the water go tomorrow? We are excited to see where their investigation leads next! 💧🏗️🌱

Dear God,

Thank You for this wonderful year together. Thank You for the laughter, the learning, the friendships, and the love that filled our classroom each day.

Thank You for helping us grow — in kindness, confidence, curiosity, and joy.
Thank You for every teacher, every family, and every child who made this year so special.

As we say goodbye and begin new adventures, please watch over these children wherever they go.
Help them to be brave when things feel new, kind to everyone they meet, and always reminded of how deeply loved they are.

May they continue to learn, explore, create, and shine their light in the world.

Bless our memories together and the paths ahead.
