The Office of Community Affairs, in partnership with Macon County Extension, the Macon County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), and the American Red Cross, invites you to join us for a special Community Resource Day!

Come out and connect with 10 local organizations and community partners who will be on-site to share valuable information, available resources, services, and assistance for Macon County residents.

While the event was initially considered with a focus on our senior community, we want everyone to know that ALL Macon County residents are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Please join us in congratulating the Macon County CED, Dr. Daniel Sullen, for receiving the New Achiever Award at the 2026 Annual CED Awards. This award recognizes the County Extension Director who has served less than 3 years in their role for their outstanding service in their community and throughout Extension.

We knew Dr. Sullen would make an immediate impact as the Macon County CED, and he has certainly exceeded our expectations. Congratulations, Dr. Sullen! 🥳

Join thousands of citizen scientists across the Southeast in this exciting, family-friendly event to help protect the pollinators that keep our gardens, farms, and ecosystems thriving. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just love spending time outdoors, everyone can participate!

🌼 Choose a flowering plant.
⏱️ Watch the plant for 15 minutes.
🐝 Count and identify every pollinator that lands.

Mark your calendars and get ready to put your eagle eyes to work! The Great Southeast Pollinator Census returns August 21–22, 2026.

This fun, hands-on citizen science project gives people of all ages the opportunity to identify and count pollinators in their backyards, gardens, and communities. Every count contributes valuable data that helps researchers better understand and support pollinator conservation across the Southeast.

Participating is simple:
Print a counting sheet from the link below.
Choose a plant.
Count and identify each insect that lands on the plant for 15 minutes.
Upload your results.
