World Cleanup Day at GWC! 🌱
Today, our GWC Cubs rolled up their sleeves and showed that small hands can make a BIG difference! Our scholars worked together to clean and care for our school grounds while learning an important lesson about responsibility, teamwork, and taking pride in the world around them.
This is what it means to be a World Changer! When we teach our scholars to care for their school today, we are helping them learn to care for their community and their world tomorrow.
Cleaner spaces. Happier places. Brighter futures. Special thanks to Ms. Bryant for overseeing this project πŸŒŽπŸ’™

What a wonderful day we had at GWC celebrating Citizenship Day! πŸ’™
Today, our kindergarten scholars had an opportunity to experience something that matters deeply in the life of a child: leadership made visible.

We were honored to welcome Mayor Lee, who took time from his busy schedule to sit with our youngest scholars, read with them, listen to them, and talk with them about what it means to be a good citizen and a leader. Through Change Sings and I Am More Than, our scholars explored a powerful idea: you do not have to wait until you are grown to make a difference.

Mayor Lee challenged them to be leaders in whatever they choose to become and whatever they choose to do. That message matters. Because before a child can imagine becoming a mayor, teacher, doctor, entrepreneur, or community leader, sometimes they need to see leadership walk through their classroom door, sit beside them, and remind them that their future has possibilities.

Leadership is visible. Service is visible. And when leaders make time for children, children begin to understand that they matter to their community.

We are grateful to Mayor Lee for investing his time in the children of Macon County and for helping us plant seeds that may not fully bloom for years to come. Today, our scholars did more than learn about citizenship. They experienced what it looks like when community and school come together for the next generation.

Little scholars today. Leaders tomorrow. The seeds are being planted now. πŸ’™

Good evening, GWC Families and Community,

My heart is truly full as I reflect on the incredible way our families and community continue to show up for our scholars. There is something special happening at George Washington Carver Elementary School, and you are a tremendous part of it. We welcomed 256 mommies for Tea Time with Mommy, 498 grandparents for Grandparents Day, and our community filled every available appointment for our PAWS for a Cause Blood Drive! These numbers tell a powerful story. Our families are present, our community is invested, and our scholars are surrounded by people who believe in them.

A great school is not built by one person, nor is it built within four walls. It is built when families, educators, community partners, and neighbors come together with a shared commitment to our children. Every time you walk through our doors, volunteer your time, support an event, or simply show up, you remind our scholars that they matter and that an entire community is standing behind them.

To our GWC families and community, thank you for trusting us, partnering with us, and continuing to answer the call. Together, we are building relationships, strengthening our community, and creating meaningful experiences for our scholars. We are proud of what we are building together, but there is still so much more ahead. We are only getting started!

Every Scholar. Every Chance. Every Day. The Magic Continues because of YOU! πŸ’™πŸΎ

With gratitude,

Principal Brown
